Method TryUnion

Namespace

Assembly
GeometryHelper.dll

TryUnion(GeoSolid3, out GeoSolid3)

Joins this solid with another, using the default tolerance.

public bool TryUnion(GeoSolid3 other, out GeoSolid3 result)

Parameters

other GeoSolid3
result GeoSolid3

Returns

bool

TryUnion(GeoSolid3, out GeoSolid3, Tolerance)

Joins this solid with another, within a tolerance.

public bool TryUnion(GeoSolid3 other, out GeoSolid3 result, Tolerance tolerance)

Parameters

other GeoSolid3
result GeoSolid3
tolerance Tolerance

Returns

bool

TryUnion(GeoObb3, out GeoSolid3)

Joins this body to a box.

public bool TryUnion(GeoObb3 other, out GeoSolid3 result)

Parameters

other GeoObb3
result GeoSolid3

Returns

bool

Remarks

A box is read as the body it bounds, which is exact: six flat faces, no fitting and no approximation. The answer is a GeoSolid3 because a boolean of two boxes is hardly ever a box.

TryUnion(GeoObb3, out GeoSolid3, Tolerance)

Joins this body to a box, within a tolerance.

public bool TryUnion(GeoObb3 other, out GeoSolid3 result, Tolerance tolerance)

Parameters

other GeoObb3

The box.

result GeoSolid3

The body the two make, or nothing where they make none.

tolerance Tolerance

The tolerance.

Returns

bool

true when the two made a body; otherwise, false.

Exceptions

ArgumentNullException

Thrown when the box is null.
