MergeCoplanarFaces()

Runs the faces that share a plane and an edge together into single faces.

public GeoSolid3 MergeCoplanarFaces()

Returns

GeoSolid3

MergeCoplanarFaces(Tolerance)

Runs the faces that share a plane and an edge together into single faces, within a tolerance.

public GeoSolid3 MergeCoplanarFaces(Tolerance tolerance)

Parameters

tolerance Tolerance

The tolerance deciding what counts as one plane and one edge.

Returns

GeoSolid3

The body with each coplanar, adjoining group of faces replaced by one face.

Remarks

This is the other direction from Triangulate(): it turns a triangulated skin back into the flat panels it stands for, which is worth doing to a body read out of a mesh format before anything is measured against its faces one at a time. The openings are simplified with the outer surface, and a body whose faces cannot be reduced below four comes back as it was, since fewer than four flat faces cannot enclose a volume.
