Method GetPointAtDistance
- Namespace
- GeometryHelper.Geometry
- Assembly
- GeometryHelper.dll
GetPointAtDistance(double)
Gets the point at a distance measured from the origin along the ray direction.
public GeoPoint3 GetPointAtDistance(double distance)
Parameters
distancedoubleThe distance from the origin.
Returns
- GeoPoint3
The point at that distance.
Remarks
Because the direction is normalized, the parameter and the arc length are the same number here. A negative distance extrapolates behind the origin, off the ray itself; this matches GetPointAtParameter(double), which likewise follows the infinite carrier rather than clamping. Ask IsPointOn(GeoPoint3) when the question is whether a position is actually on the ray.
