SignedArea

Gets the signed area of the polygon, by the shoelace formula: positive when the vertices run counter-clockwise, negative when they run clockwise.

public double SignedArea { get; }

Property Value

double

Remarks

The sum is taken from the first vertex rather than from the origin, so that coordinates far out cost no precision: from the origin, the products of coordinates seven kilometres out are near 5E13, whose last digit is worth a hundredth, and a polygon a tenth of a millimetre across came out with no area at all.
